OfficeMedium Ranked #1 Business Collaboration App by Business Pundit

Business Pundit, one of our favorite business blogs out there, compiled an excellent roundup of business collaboration web apps. The market is getting fairly crowded so a mass review like this was much needed. What is the most interesting is not how many different applications there are, but how different each one is; not just in features or focus, but in how each has their own, unique way of accomplishing different things.

OfficeMedium Gets an RSS Feed Reader, File & Resource Revisioning

Straight off the suggestions of some very smart customers and potential customers of ours, we successfully released two significant and very useful features into the OfficeMedium platform on Sunday afternoon. No public announcement was made about the features, but after a quick 10-minute downtime, all of the functionality was rolled out. We decided to hold off till today to make a post about the features, because several minor patches were put out since, just to tweak all of the features and settings.

Going Down For Quick Maintenance Tonight

As explained in our last post, a fews of issues, two bugs, and some minor back-end updates need to be addressed. We've chosen to tackle the work tonight at approximately 11:30PM and expect the downtime to last no more than 30 minutes. During that time, you will lose access to your software and this website. But at least, we're doing the updates and not you - which would be the case if you managed your own software.

This post will be updated once the work has been completed and your access is restored.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Bug Detected in Google Web Search Function

Unsure how this bug slipped under the radar, but it was recently discovered that users were getting an "Access Denied" error when trying to search the web. Not sure what we're talking about? User Browser Gets a Minor Face-lift

The user browser component of OfficeMedium, as simple as it is, was quite aesthetically unappealing. Obviously there wasn't much design effort put towards it. In a very early-morning burst of creativity and distaste for it's appearance, we decided to tweak the layout and code for a much better looking solution. The changes aren't anything spectacular, but things are easier to read now and look at least presentable.

Are Hosted Solutions & Applications Reliable?

This is one of the most common questions we incur and one of the most common fears of business owners becoming interested in utilizing SaaS (software-as-a-service) applications. To refresh your memory, SaaS applications, just like our collaboration software, are hosted on the Internet by companies, known as the providers. Instead of purchasing software and running it on your own private servers, you can utilize these SaaS application to avoid server and infrastructure costs, as well as deploy instantly.
