How can I add and view external RSS feeds?
Adding external RSS feeds is very easy and you can add as many as you'd like. First, log in as a Superuser, for example, the first user account you've created from within your application. Navigate to the right-side menu, towards the bottom, you'll find the 'Configuration' menu. Click on 'Manage News Feeds'.
This interface will list your feeds and feed categories. Prior to adding RSS feeds, we suggest you first add categories to better group the feeds you plan to add, for example, Business News, Technology News, etc. After settings that up, click on the 'Add feed' link. A popup will appear where you can specify the feed title, address, and optionally, the category.
After adding all of your feeds, you'll see the list of feeds and their status on the current page. These feeds will automatically refresh every 1-3 hours. You can manually refresh the items by clicking the 'refresh items' link next to the feed entry. You may want to do this after inserting a new feed to ensure that items show up right away.
Once your feeds are set up, users can view the feeds and news items by clicking on 'News Feeds' under the 'Site Menu'. You have three viewing options:
- Feed Aggregator: A combined stream of all news items and a brief description.
- Sources: A list-style block of items, grouped by the feed source.
- Categories: A list-style block of items, grouped by specified category.
