What are Revisions?

Revisions are essentially versions of content items, created each time an item is edited. Available on File and Resource content items, revisioning automatically stores every copy of a given content item. This system provides a complete audit trail of content, allowing users to view every version and change that was made, as well as who made the change. Aside from just viewing the different versions, users can decide to revert back to an older version.

To create a revision, simply make and submit a change to a File or Resource content item. After an amendment is made, while viewing the content item, a Revisions tab will appear. Click on that link will show all of the available revision data.

Only users that are allowed to edit the given item can revert to an older revision. This often means that you are either the creator of the item, or the item has been brought to your attention.
