What are Subscriptions and Notifications?

Subscriptions are used to keep users up-to-date with new and updated content via notifications - either using email or private messaging. There are three different types of subscriptions available:

• Author: You can subscribe to specific users and be notified whenever they submit new content items.
• Content Type: You can subscribe to specific content types, for example, tasks. By doing this, you will be notified whenever a new task is submitted.
• Thread: If a certain content item is important, you can subscribe to any changes or comments made to that item.

Each subscription type has it's benefits and are extremely useful for staying on top of what is going on within the software. Each user can create an unlimited amount of subscriptions of each type. By visiting your user profile, and pressing the 'Notifications' link, you can add, delete, and edit your subscriptions. Also, while viewing any content item, links are made available to instantly create a subscriptions of the type you desire.
